United Way has traditionally raised the majority of its funds through workplace campaigns. Employees in companies all over Will County have worked together to create campaigns that have made a difference to those in need. The most popular donation method in workplace campaigns is payroll deduction, in which your United Way contribution is deducted directly out of your paycheck. Pillars Society of Will County
Founded in 1996, the Pillars Society of Will County is an organization of individuals and/or individuals who demonstrate extraordinary concern for their community by donating $1,000 or more annually to the United Way of Will County. Gifts can be made through payroll deduction, direct payments or stocks and securities. In 2003, the Pillars Society had 320 members whose gifts exceed $455,000.
Gifts through the Pillars Society significantly benefit the community and dramatically improve employee giving results. In fact, these leadership gifts are the fastest growing segment of United Way campaigns throughout the nation.
Pillars Society Members receive a distinctive, hand-crafted brass medallion that has been specially commissioned for the United Way of Will County. The medallion is a symbol of appreciation recognizing outstanding leadership in community caring. Additionally, members may choose to have their name listed in a special annual membership directory.
